Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QR059349 is an investigational, orally administered small molecule inhibitor of Complement Factor B (CFB), developed by Wuhan Langlai Technology Development Co., Ltd. It is specifically designed for the treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare blood disorder characterized by complement-mediated hemolysis. By selectively inhibiting Factor B, a key serine protease in the alternative complement pathway, QR059349 prevents the formation of the C3 convertase complex (C3bBb). This action effectively blocks the upstream amplification of the complement cascade, aiming to control both intravascular and extravascular hemolysis more effectively than traditional terminal complement (C5) inhibitors. The drug is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in patients with PNH.
