Overview

QRX003 is a topical lotion containing a broad-spectrum serine protease inhibitor, developed by Quoin Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Netherton Syndrome and other rare genetic skin disorders. The drug is designed to mimic the function of LEKTI, a protein absent in patients with Netherton Syndrome, thereby strengthening the skin barrier and normalizing skin shedding. By inhibiting excessive serine protease activity in the skin, QRX003 aims to reduce inflammation, improve barrier function, and alleviate symptoms such as scaling and chronic irritation. Clinical studies have shown significant improvements in disease severity indices during treatment; however, these benefits reverse upon discontinuation, indicating that ongoing therapy is necessary for sustained efficacy. The product utilizes proprietary Invisicare delivery technology for enhanced topical application[2][3][5][6].
