Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QS11 is a cell-permeable, small-molecule purine derivative that acts as a synergistic agonist of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. It achieves this effect by binding to and inhibiting ADP-ribosylation factor GTPase-activating protein 1 (ARFGAP1). This inhibition prevents the inactivation of ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) such as ARF1 and ARF6, thereby modulating protein trafficking and promoting β-catenin nuclear translocation. QS11 has been shown to inhibit the migration of ARFGAP1-overexpressing metastatic breast cancer cells and to promote adrenergic and non-adrenergic prostate smooth muscle contraction. It is primarily utilized as a research tool to study Wnt signaling, protein trafficking, and smooth muscle physiology.
