QSC-001

**QSC-001** was an investigational, orally disintegrating tablet formulation of **hydrocodone bitartrate + acetaminophen** developed by Questcor for treatment of moderate to moderately severe pain, particularly for patients with difficulty swallowing conventional tablets. Hydrocodone provides opioid analgesia primarily through agonism of the mu-opioid receptor, while acetaminophen contributes analgesic activity through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The product used Eurand's Microcaps taste-masking and AdvaTab orally disintegrating tablet technologies; Eurand was contracted as the exclusive supplier.
