Qu Feng Zhi Tong Capsule

Qu Feng Zhi Tong Capsule (祛风止痛胶囊) is an oral traditional Chinese patent medicine developed and manufactured by Shaanxi Buchang Pharmaceutical. [1] It is approved in China for treating rheumatoid arthritis and is also clinically studied for knee osteoarthritis. [14] In traditional Chinese medicine, it is used to expel wind-cold, supplement the liver and kidney, and strengthen muscles and bones to alleviate conditions like joint swelling, pain, and numbness. [1] The formula is derived from the ancient prescription "Duhuo Jisheng Tang". [1] Research indicates that the capsule exerts anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, potentially through the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha, IL-1β, and IL-6 via the MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways. [2, 3, 8] Its ingredients include Erodium stephanianum, Viscum coloratum, Dipsacus asper, Clematis chinensis, Angelica pubescens, processed Aconite root, and Carthamus tinctorius. [1, 7]
