Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qu Tan Hua Yu granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD) and stable angina pectoris, specifically targeting patients with the TCM syndrome of 'Spleen deficiency generating phlegm' and 'phlegm-stasis' (Tan Yu). The formulation is designed to resolve phlegm (Qu Tan) and transform blood stasis (Hua Yu), which are considered central pathological factors in the development of myocardial ischemia and atherosclerosis in TCM theory. In clinical research, it has been evaluated in Phase 3 trials as part of an integrative TCM regimen, often combined with Yi Qi Jian Pi granules, to improve clinical symptoms, reduce the frequency of angina attacks, and enhance overall cardiac function.
