Quadrisol

Quadrisol is a veterinary nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing the active ingredient vedaprofen. It is a small molecule compound used primarily in horses for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, particularly for musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Vedaprofen acts as a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), which results in the inhibition of serum thromboxane B2 (TxB2) and exudate prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). Developed by Intervet (now MSD Animal Health), Quadrisol is approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and is available as an oral gel and an intravenous solution. It is commonly used for pain management and can be administered prophylactically prior to elective surgery in equine patients.
