Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Bovax quadrivalent HPV vaccine is a recombinant vaccine designed to protect against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16, and 18. Developed by Shanghai Bovax Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and its collaborator Chongqing Bovax Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the vaccine is produced using a *Hansenula polymorpha* (yeast) expression system to generate virus-like particles (VLPs) of the L1 capsid protein for each targeted HPV type. It is intended for the prevention of HPV-associated diseases, including cervical cancer, genital warts, vaginal cancer, and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN1/2/3). The vaccine is currently in Phase 3 clinical development (e.g., NCT05027776), where its immunogenicity and safety are being evaluated in healthy Chinese females aged 9–26 years, specifically comparing 2-dose and 3-dose vaccination schedules.
