**Quadrivalent inactivated enterovirus vaccine (Vero cell)**, also called **HFMD4**, is a SINOVAC-developed prophylactic vaccine candidate intended to prevent hand, foot, and mouth disease and related enterovirus illnesses caused by enterovirus 71, coxsackievirus A16, coxsackievirus A10, and coxsackievirus A6. It contains inactivated antigens produced using Vero cells and is designed to elicit serotype-specific neutralizing antibody responses against all four targeted enteroviruses. The candidate entered a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase IIIa study in children aged 6–71 months in China after Phase I/II studies reported acceptable tolerability, safety, and immunogenicity following a two-dose schedule.
