Overview

Quadrivalent influenza mRNA vaccine MRT5413 is an investigational prophylactic mRNA-based vaccine developed to protect against four different strains of the influenza virus. The vaccine uses messenger RNA (mRNA) technology to encode antigens from the hemagglutinin proteins of selected seasonal influenza viruses. Upon intramuscular injection, the mRNA is delivered into host cells—typically via lipid nanoparticles—where it is translated into viral proteins that stimulate both humoral and cellular immune responses, thereby providing immunity against infection. The primary indication for this vaccine is prevention of seasonal influenza in adults. Clinical trials have evaluated its safety and immunogenicity compared to standard-dose, high-dose, and recombinant quadrivalent influenza vaccines in adults aged 18 years and older[1][2][5][4].
