The quadrivalent influenza split virus vaccine is an inactivated vaccine designed to protect against four different strains of the influenza virus, including two A strains and two B strains. It is produced by propagating the viruses in embryonated chicken eggs, followed by harvesting, purification, and inactivation. The vaccine is formulated to contain 15 µg of hemagglutinin (HA) per strain in a 0.5 mL dose. It is administered via intramuscular injection.
