Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (A, C, W135, Y) is a multivalent vaccine candidate developed by Wuxi Royal Biological (Luoyi Biological) for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease. The vaccine targets four primary serogroups of *Neisseria meningitidis*: A, C, W135, and Y. It utilizes a conjugate technology platform where capsular polysaccharides from each of the four serogroups are chemically linked to a carrier protein. This conjugation process is designed to stimulate a T-cell dependent immune response, which provides superior immunogenicity and longer-lasting protection compared to plain polysaccharide vaccines, especially in pediatric populations. As of the current pipeline status, the vaccine is in the preclinical stage of development.
