A quadrivalent recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed by Shanghai Bovax Biotechnology in collaboration with Chongqing Bovax. The vaccine targets HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18, which are responsible for the majority of cervical cancers and genital warts. It is produced using a *Hansenula polymorpha* yeast expression system to generate recombinant L1 capsid proteins that self-assemble into virus-like particles (VLPs). These VLPs mimic the structure of the virus to induce a protective immune response without being infectious. The vaccine is currently in Phase 3 clinical development in China, where studies are evaluating its safety and immunogenicity, including a comparison of a 2-dose schedule in girls aged 9-14 years against a standard 3-dose schedule in young women aged 20-26 years.
