Quadrivalent recombinant influenza vaccine (RIV4) is a type of seasonal flu vaccine designed to protect against four different strains of the influenza virus—two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses. Unlike traditional egg-based or cell-cultured vaccines, RIV4 is produced using recombinant DNA technology, which does not require the use of chicken eggs in manufacturing.
