**Quadrivalent seasonal influenza VLP** is a virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate designed to protect against four circulating influenza virus strains: two influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Yamagata and Victoria). Produced using insect cell-based baculovirus expression systems (BEVS), it self-assembles HA (hemagglutinin), NA (neuraminidase), and M1 proteins into non-infectious particles morphologically and antigenically similar to influenza virions (100-180 nm spherical particles with spikes). This egg-independent platform offers advantages in scalability, rapid production, and stability, inducing robust hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) and neutralizing antibody responses comparable to egg-based or recombinant HA vaccines in preclinical mouse models, with potential for annual strain updates to match prevalent seasonal strains.[2][4]
