Overview

MK-1308A is a fixed-dose co-formulation of quavonlimab (MK-1308), an anti-CTLA-4 monoclonal antibody, and pembrolizumab (MK-3475), an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody. Developed by Merck & Co., this combination biologic is designed to provide dual checkpoint inhibition, potentially overcoming resistance mechanisms associated with single-agent PD-1 blockade. By simultaneously targeting the CTLA-4 and PD-1 pathways, MK-1308A aims to enhance T-cell activation and proliferation within the tumor microenvironment. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials for various malignancies, including hepatocellular carcinoma (often in combination with lenvatinib) and non-small cell lung cancer.
