Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qudu Zengning is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) capsule formulation containing extracts from four Chinese medicinal herbs. It has been studied primarily for the treatment of HIV/AIDS patients with Qi and Yin deficiency and internal heat syndrome. Clinical studies involving over 1,000 AIDS patients have shown that treatment with Qudu Zengning improved symptoms in most patients, increased CD4 cell counts significantly (from an average of 115.0 to 295.2/μl), and reduced or stabilized viral load after six months of therapy. The mechanism is not fully elucidated but is presumed to involve immunomodulation and support of immune reconstruction in HIV-infected individuals[1][2].
