Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QueaseEASE is a non-pharmacological aromatherapy product developed by Soothing Scents, specifically formulated to manage and alleviate nausea and vomiting. It consists of a proprietary blend of 100% pure essential oils, typically including peppermint (*Mentha piperita*), spearmint (*Mentha spicata*), ginger (*Zingiber officinale*), and lavender (*Lavandula angustifolia*). The product is primarily used as an adjunct therapy for postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), post-discharge nausea (PDN), and motion sickness. It is administered via inhalation through specialized delivery systems such as infusion clips, which attach to a patient's gown, or portable inhaler pods. The mechanism of action involves the inhalation of volatile aromatic compounds that stimulate the olfactory system, which then modulates the limbic system and the brainstem's emetic centers to reduce the perception of nausea. Clinical studies have shown it to be an effective, low-risk intervention in both adult and pediatric surgical populations.
