Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Quemicetina con Hidrocortisona is a combination pharmaceutical product developed and manufactured by Lafedar (Laboratorios Federales Argentinos). It contains chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, and hydrocortisone caprylate, a corticosteroid that provides anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. This combination is used for treating ophthalmic and dermatological conditions where both bacterial infection and inflammation are present. It is marketed in Argentina as a generic combination drug and is available in various solution volumes, including 5ml, 500ml, and 1000ml containers.
