Overview

Quercetagetin is a naturally occurring flavonoid, specifically a hexahydroxyflavone, derived from plants such as *Flos eriocauli* (the flower of *Eriocaulon buergerianum*). It is traditionally used in Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Research indicates it has potential therapeutic applications in rheumatoid arthritis by alleviating inflammatory osteoclastogenesis. Its mechanism involves the activation of the Nrf2 signaling pathway and the modulation of the Pten/AKT/Nfatc1 axis. Additionally, quercetagetin is recognized as a potent, ATP-competitive inhibitor of PIM1 kinase, suggesting potential utility in oncology and other inflammatory conditions.
