Quercetin pentaacetate is a **synthetic, pentaacetylated derivative of the natural flavonoid quercetin**. It demonstrates **diverse biological activities**, including **antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anticancer properties**[4][5][8][10][13]. This compound shows potent *in vitro* inhibition of lipid peroxidation and scavenges radicals; it inhibits LPS-induced nitrite and PGE2 production, and downregulates iNOS and COX-2 expression in immune cells[4][10]. Notably, quercetin pentaacetate **blocks the adhesion of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to cell surfaces** by binding the viral F-protein with high affinity, impeding infection[5][8][9]. It shows **higher metabolic stability and reduced cytotoxicity versus quercetin**. Additional in vitro work shows antiproliferative effects against various cancer cell lines[4][10]. Research remains at the preclinical stage; development status for any human therapeutic indication is unreported.
