Quercus ilex pollen allergen extract is a biological allergen extract developed by Inmunotek S.L. for the diagnosis and treatment of oak pollen allergies. Derived from the pollen of the holm oak (*Quercus ilex*), the extract contains allergenic proteins that interact with specific IgE antibodies in sensitized individuals. It is primarily used in in vivo diagnostic procedures, such as skin prick testing, to identify patients with allergic rhinitis, rhinoconjunctivitis, or asthma triggered by oak pollen. Additionally, it is investigated for use in allergen-specific immunotherapy (allergy vaccines) to induce immune tolerance. Clinical studies, including Phase 2 trials, have focused on determining the allergenic potency of the extract by comparing skin prick test wheal sizes to histamine-induced responses.
