Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qufeng Shengshi Fang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation composed of eight primary botanical and animal-derived ingredients: cicada slough, bombyx batryticatus, radix angelicae, radix sileris, honeysuckle flower, forsythia, lithospermum, and radix glycyrrhizae. It is specifically investigated for the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis. In the context of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the formula is designed to 'dispel wind' and 'resolve dampness,' which are considered the primary pathogenic factors contributing to allergic respiratory conditions. The formulation is hypothesized to work through multi-target anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory mechanisms, reducing the production of IgE and the release of inflammatory mediators like histamine, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and pruritus.
