Overview
Qufeng Xiaodian Formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal combination developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of He'nan University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) in children. Specifically indicated for patients presenting with the 'wind-heat' syndrome according to TCM diagnostic criteria, the formula is designed to dispel pathogenic wind and resolve purpuric lesions. It is often studied alongside Liangxue Tuizi Formula, which targets the 'blood-heat' syndrome of the same disease. Clinical research involving this formula has utilized urine metabolomics to identify metabolic fingerprints and biomarkers, such as alterations in amino acid and energy metabolism, to evaluate its therapeutic effects and the underlying biological basis of TCM syndrome differentiation in pediatric vasculitis.
