Overview

Qufu Shengji Dan is a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) topical formulation developed as an in-hospital preparation by the Chongqing Orthopaedic Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). The formulation follows the TCM principle of "removing putrefaction and promoting granulation" (Qufu Shengji), aimed at clearing necrotic tissue and accelerating the formation of granulation tissue and epithelialization. Clinical research suggests its mechanism involves modulating the expression of growth factors like Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and Transforming Growth Factor-beta (TGF-β), while reducing inflammatory markers like TNF-α and IL-6 to improve the microenvironment of the wound bed.
