Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QuikClot Control+ is a proprietary hemostatic dressing designed for the temporary control of internal and external bleeding, including severe (class III and IV), moderate, mild, and traumatic bleeding. It consists of a nonwoven material impregnated with kaolin, an inorganic mineral that activates factor XII in the coagulation cascade. This activation accelerates the body's natural clotting process to achieve rapid hemostasis. The device is FDA-cleared for use in controlling bleeding from internal organ spaces during surgery or trauma (including intra-abdominal, intra-thoracic, pelvic packing), as well as external wounds and bone surfaces following sternotomy. It can be used on patients with or without anticoagulation/antiplatelet therapy and with or without cardiopulmonary bypass systems[1][2][5][6][7][8].
