Quinvaxem

Quinvaxem is a fully liquid, ready-to-use pentavalent combination vaccine indicated for active immunization of infants and young children against five serious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, and invasive disease caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b. The vaccine contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, inactivated whole-cell *Bordetella pertussis* suspension, hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and *Haemophilus influenzae* type b conjugated oligosaccharide. It works by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against these pathogens without causing illness. Quinvaxem was the first ready-to-use pentavalent vaccine to receive WHO prequalification in 2006 and has played a significant role in global childhood immunization programs[3][4][1]. The primary indication is for routine infant immunization as part of national vaccination schedules.
