Overview

Quisovalimab (formerly known as CERC-002) is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets LIGHT (TNFSF14), an inflammatory cytokine in the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. By neutralizing LIGHT, quisovalimab aims to modulate immune responses implicated in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases. The drug has been developed primarily for the treatment of COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and moderate to severe Crohn’s disease refractory to biologics. Clinical studies have shown that it can significantly reduce serum LIGHT levels and improve clinical outcomes such as reducing respiratory failure and mortality in COVID-19 ARDS patients, as well as promoting mucosal healing in Crohn’s disease patients who have failed anti-TNF therapies[1][2][3][5][6][7][8][9][10].
