Overview

**Quitting using Medication** is an arm-level intervention label in the Medical University of South Carolina-sponsored STEPS trial, not a distinct proprietary drug or drug-development candidate. The intervention consists of combination nicotine replacement therapy using a transdermal nicotine patch for sustained nicotine delivery plus nicotine lozenges for as-needed relief of cravings, alongside brief smoking-cessation counseling, for adults in outpatient substance use disorder treatment who smoke cigarettes.
