Overview
Qurs-e-Mafasil is a traditional Unani polyherbal tablet formulation used primarily for the treatment of joint disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, as well as for general joint pain, gout, sciatica, and uric acid buildup. Its main mechanism of action is believed to be anti-inflammatory and uric acid-lowering, with pain relief attributed to its botanical components, chiefly Suranjan Shirin (Colchicum luteum), which is a recognized source of colchicine-like activity. Some formulations may additionally include other botanicals such as Haleela Siyah, Turbad Sufaid, and Ailwa. Clinical studies indicate it has comparable efficacy to celecoxib in reducing joint pain in rheumatoid arthritis. Qurs-e-Mafasil is a representative therapy in Unani medicine and is not a modern pharmaceutical but a regulated traditional herbal remedy[2][3][5][6].
