Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qurs Musallas is a traditional Unani compound formulation manufactured by Dawakhana Tibbiya College (Aligarh Muslim University) and other Unani pharmacies. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of severe headaches, migraine (Dard-e-Shaqeeqa), and hemicrania. The formulation is traditionally prepared as a tablet that is rubbed in water to form a paste, which is then applied topically to the forehead and temples. Its name "Musallas" (meaning triangular or three-sided) is derived from its traditional triangular shape and its composition of three primary aromatic/scented ingredients: Zafran (Crocus sativus), Sandal Safed (Santalum album), and Kafoor (Cinnamomum camphora), with Afiun (Papaver somniferum) often serving as a chief active component to provide analgesic and sedative effects.
