Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qutan Huoxue Fang (also known as Qutan Huoxue decoction or QTHX) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formula used primarily for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and related liver conditions. Clinical studies indicate that it has beneficial effects in reducing liver inflammation, improving lipid metabolism, and alleviating oxidative stress. The mechanism of action is believed to involve modulation of oxidative stress pathways, anti-inflammatory responses, and regulation of lipid receptor signaling. Specifically, it has been shown to activate the SCOS1/NF-κB/TLR4 pathway in animal models, contributing to its hepatoprotective effects[2][5]. The formula is multi-component and acts via multiple targets typical for traditional Chinese medicine.
