Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qutan Huoxue Formula (also known as Qutan Huoxue decoction or QTHX) is an empirically developed traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula used for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), formerly known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The formula is composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including Pinellia ternata, Citrus sinensis, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Coix lacryma-jobi, Bupleurum scorzonerifolium, Alisma plantago-aquatica, Cassia tora, Poria cocos, and Scutellaria baicalensis. It has been shown to reduce hepatic lipid deposition, attenuate hepatic oxidative stress, and inhibit MASH progression. Mechanistically, Qutan Huoxue Formula acts by regulating CYP1B1-mediated arachidonic acid metabolism, upregulating SOCS1, and inhibiting the TLR4/NF-κB inflammatory signaling pathway.
