Overview
Quxie capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) specifically for the treatment of colorectal cancer. It is primarily used as an adjuvant therapy to reduce recurrence and metastasis in patients following surgical resection or chemotherapy. The formulation is designed based on the TCM principle of dispelling evil (Quxie), targeting the underlying toxins associated with malignancy. Research suggests that Quxie capsule exerts its anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells, inducing apoptosis, and modulating the tumor microenvironment. Specifically, it has been shown to suppress the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway and reduce the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), thereby inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and angiogenesis.
