Overview

QV-2421 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) developed by Quiver Bioscience for the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain. It is designed to selectively target and reduce the expression of Nav1.7 (SCN9A), a voltage-gated sodium channel that is genetically validated as a key mediator of pain signaling in humans. Unlike previous small molecule attempts to inhibit Nav1.7, which often lacked sufficient selectivity or efficacy, QV-2421 utilizes an RNA-based approach to provide a non-opioid, non-addictive alternative for pain management. The development of QV-2421 is supported by a multi-year grant from the NIH's HEAL Initiative, facilitating its progression through preclinical studies into a first-in-human Phase Ib clinical trial in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital.
