Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QVLP + AS03 is a **combination vaccine** composed of a recombinant quadrivalent virus-like particle (VLP) influenza vaccine and the oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant AS03. The QVLP vaccine incorporates four recombinant hemagglutinin (HA) proteins (H1, H3, and two B lineages) produced in plants and assembled into VLPs, mirroring the HA components of standard seasonal influenza vaccines based on WHO recommendations. AS03 is an immunostimulatory adjuvant containing squalene and alpha-tocopherol, designed to enhance and broaden the immune response. The QVLP + AS03 combination stimulates both humoral (antibody) and cellular immune responses, notably increasing CD4+ T-cell responses—including interferon-gamma, TNF-alpha, and IL-2 secretion—as well as robust antigen-specific memory B cell formation and polyfunctional T cell activity. This vaccine is being developed as a **seasonal influenza vaccine** with the goal of improved immunogenicity, breadth, and durability compared to traditional inactivated influenza vaccines, with particular attention to higher-risk adult populations[1][4].
