Overview

QX003S is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody developed as an alternative to tocilizumab (Actemra). It is designed to bind both soluble and membrane-bound interleukin 6 (IL-6) receptors, thereby inhibiting IL-6 signaling. This immunosuppressive action reduces the effects of elevated or deregulated IL-6, which is implicated in chronic autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Clinical studies have demonstrated that QX003S has similar pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and safety profiles compared to the reference product Actemra. The most common adverse reactions observed were decreases in fibrinogen levels and neutrophil/leukocyte counts. The drug is being developed by Qyuns Therapeutics and has reached phase II clinical trials for rheumatoid arthritis in China[1][3][4][5].
