Overview

This is a combination investigational therapeutic composed of the r-enantiomer of 1,2-dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane chloride (a cationic lipid commonly used for nanoparticle or liposome-based delivery) and synthetic peptides derived from the E6 and E7 oncoproteins of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16). The E6 and E7 proteins are key drivers in HPV-mediated oncogenesis by promoting degradation of tumor suppressor p53 (E6) and cell cycle dysregulation (E7)[1][4][8]. Peptides derived from these proteins are used as antigens to stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses against HPV-infected or transformed cells[2][4][5][8]. The cationic lipid component likely serves as a delivery vehicle to enhance cellular uptake or immunogenicity. This combination is being explored primarily as a therapeutic vaccine candidate for cervical cancer prevention or treatment by inducing targeted immune responses against HPV-transformed cells[4][5].
