R-IMPP is a small molecule inhibitor that targets the 80S ribosome to inhibit the translation of PCSK9, a protein involved in lipid metabolism. It increases LDL receptor levels, thereby enhancing LDL cholesterol uptake in hepatoma cells. R-IMPP has potential therapeutic applications in managing cholesterol levels but is not yet approved for clinical use[3][5][12].
