Overview

R-primaquine (RPQ) is an enantiomer of primaquine, an antimalarial drug. It is being investigated in clinical trials to understand its comparative tolerability, metabolism, and pharmacokinetic behavior in healthy human volunteers and in individuals with G6PD deficiency. These studies aim to evaluate RPQ's properties alongside S-primaquine (SPQ) and the racemic mixture (RSPQ).
