Overview

R926112 (also known as R112) is an investigational small molecule drug developed as a nasal spray for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis. It acts as a mast cell inhibitor and functions primarily by inhibiting spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk), which plays a key role in immune cell signaling involved in allergic responses. The drug was evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy and safety compared to placebo and beclomethasone dipropionate (an established steroid treatment). Development was led by Rigel Pharmaceuticals, with studies reaching at least Phase 2 for seasonal allergic rhinitis.
