Drug intelligence / Profile preview
R131-2 is a specialized intravaginal soft gel capsule formulation of recombinant human interferon alfa-2b (rhIFN alfa-2b) developed by Zenith Technology Corporation Limited. It is designed for the localized treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related conditions, including cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and condyloma acuminatum (genital warts). As a type I interferon, it binds to the IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 receptor complex, triggering the JAK-STAT signaling pathway to induce an antiviral state in target cells, inhibit viral replication, and enhance the host's immune response against virally infected or neoplastic cells. The soft gel capsule formulation is intended to provide improved stability and patient compliance compared to traditional vaginal suppositories or creams.
