R2M3-26 is a proprietary Wnt mimetic protein developed by Surrozen for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically ulcerative colitis. It is designed to mimic the action of endogenous Wnt proteins by engaging Wnt receptors and activating downstream β-catenin signaling. In preclinical models of acute colitis, R2M3-26 has demonstrated the ability to repair damaged colon epithelium and improve disease activity without inducing the epithelial hyperproliferation (hyperplasia) often associated with other Wnt pathway modulators like R-Spondin. This selective modulation of Wnt signaling aims to achieve histological remission by directly healing the intestinal epithelial barrier.
