Drug intelligence / Profile preview
R450 is a commercial glyphosate-based herbicide formulation containing 450 g/L of glyphosate, often associated with the Roundup brand. It is widely applied in agriculture and private gardens to control unwanted plant growth. Research indicates that R450 can exert significant non-target effects on soil microorganisms, such as the filamentous fungus *Aspergillus nidulans*, even at concentrations considerably lower than agricultural application rates. These effects include alterations in growth, cellular polarity, endocytosis, and mitochondrial function, and under specific exposure conditions, it has been shown to have mutagenic properties.
