Overview

RA-004 is a novel synthetic thiazolidinedione derivative developed by Red Arrow Therapeutics. It has demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory activity in preclinical models, particularly in reducing acute pulmonary inflammation induced by carrageenan in mice. The compound acts as an agonist of peroxisome proliferator–activated receptors (PPARs), which are nuclear hormone receptors involved in the regulation of inflammation and metabolism. In animal studies, RA-004 significantly reduced leukocyte influx, nitric oxide levels, and expression of inflammatory markers such as COX‑2, iNOS, TNF‑α, and IL‑1β in lung tissue[1]. Its primary therapeutic area under investigation is cardiovascular diseases.
