Overview

RA 233 is a pyrimido-pyrimidine derivative and an antiplatelet drug, chemically related to dipyridamole. It was investigated in a placebo-controlled, double-blind, multicenter study for its efficacy in ovarian cancer. Patients received RA 233 or placebo for 2 years following primary surgery and combination cytotoxic chemotherapy. The study concluded that long-term administration of RA 233 offered no clinical benefit in ovarian cancer, showing no significant differences in new metastases, progressive malignancy growth, or survival compared to placebo-treated patients.
