RA0118 is a preclinical-stage polymeric glycoconjugate being developed by Remab Therapeutics for the treatment of alpha-gal syndrome (red meat allergy) and the prevention of allergic reactions to monoclonal antibody therapies containing the alpha-gal epitope. The drug consists of a poly-L-lysine backbone (DP1000) with approximately 18% of its lysine residues derivatized with the Gal-alpha-1,3-Gal-beta-1,4-GlcNAc (alpha-gal) epitope. RA0118 functions by selectively binding to and removing circulating anti-alpha-gal IgE antibodies, which are responsible for hypersensitivity reactions in sensitized individuals. By depleting these harmful antibodies, the therapy aims to prevent anaphylaxis and other allergic symptoms triggered by exposure to alpha-gal.
