Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RAB001 is an innovative peptide-based therapeutic developed by ZhongShan LaiBo RuiChen BioMedicine for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). It functions as an agonist of the parathyroid hormone receptor 1 (PTHR1), a key regulator of bone metabolism. By activating this receptor, RAB001 stimulates osteoblast activity and promotes bone formation, aiming to repair necrotic bone tissue and prevent structural collapse of the femoral head. The drug is specifically being investigated for early-stage non-traumatic osteonecrosis, particularly cases induced by long-term glucocorticoid use, where it seeks to counteract the suppressive effects of steroids on bone-forming cells. It is currently in Phase II clinical development.
