Rabdosia rubescens chloroform fraction is a natural product extract derived from the aerial parts of the *Rabdosia rubescens* plant (also known as Dong Ling Cao). It is obtained through a sequential solvent extraction process, specifically the fraction soluble in chloroform after petroleum ether extraction. This extract is primarily studied in academic research for its potential to reverse multidrug resistance (MDR) in various cancers, including breast cancer. Its mechanism involves the inhibition of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux activity and the down-regulation of MDR1 gene expression, which enhances the intracellular accumulation and efficacy of co-administered chemotherapeutic agents like adriamycin. The fraction contains a complex mixture of bioactive secondary metabolites, notably terpenoids and flavonoids.
