Rabeloc

Rabeloc is an intravenous formulation of rabeprazole sodium, a substituted benzimidazole proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Developed by Cadila Pharmaceuticals, it was the first intravenous rabeprazole formulation introduced globally. It works by specifically inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. It is primarily indicated for conditions requiring rapid reduction of gastric acid production, such as upper gastrointestinal bleeding, severe refractory gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stress-induced mucosal injury, and acid peptic disease (APD).
